Achilles Radial Partners With James Buchanan Offroad Racing
James Buchanan's Achilles Radial Offroad Class One race car had it's first outing over the weekend at the final round of the 2015 Porter Group Counties Classic held in Manukau.
James is an experienced member of the off road racing community, previously racing his class three car with a history of success including back to back wins at the Woodhill 100 in 2012 & 2013. 'Saturday was a great opportunity to gain some real seat time in the new car' says James 'it's quite a different animal to the class three car!' With only one other car racing in his class on the day James won three of three races.
More About The Car Jame's latest build is a Tatum Superbuggy. Originating from the States the race car is running a ported Mitsubishi EVO 10 motor with forged CP pistons, Carrillo rods, ARP main studs, ARP head studs and Fortin 5 speed dog box. A long list of customised requirements were made easier with James' ability to CNC machine custom parts at his business Bu-Mac Engineering.
James is running Achilles Radial Desert Hawk X-MT in 31x10.5R15 and 30X9.5R15. We look forward to following James this season as he aims for the podium at the ORANZ Nationals events, with particular focus on the Woodhill 100 and NZ1000. View the ORANZ 2015 Racing Calendar here
