Countersteer Motorsport make D1NZ Comeback

Round 2 of D1NZ at Manfield was extremely testing for Joel Counter and the Countersteer Team. They essentially went into the round blind with no track knowledge, and were not prepared for what was ahead. Lacking many of the correct parts to make the car work on such a fast flowing track their day ended with 2 poor qualifying laps, with unsuccessful attempts to work around the problem.

Round 3 at Baypark was a bounce back for the team. They got the car dialled in and managed to get a good line going. A few small mistakes in the qualifying laps had potential to throw off the round, but the runs were good enough to put the team into the main show, qualifying in position 17.

Counter went up against Dylan Woolhouse first off, taking the win. This left him the draw against local driver and #1 qualifier, Cole Armstrong for the Top 16. He managed to close in on Armstrong on the chase run, and laid down a clean lead run forcing Armstrong into a mistake on the final corner giving Counter the win. Top 8, Counter went up against another local driver Adam Davies, both putting down near identical runs in the lead and chase, unfortunately the decision went the way of Davies this time. With the charge through to the Top 8, Counter and the team finished 7th overall for the round with a tidy points haul to spark their season back into life!
