Another year, another record crowd for the Leadfoot Festival. With over 20,000 spectators 2017 was the biggest crowd yet for the iconic festival.
With a line up of high profile drivers and scorching summer weather it was an enjoyable weekend full of action for all who attended.
Spectators came to witness drivers such as Greg Murphy, Alistair McRae, former Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust, NZ Rally Champion Ben Hunt, international drift phenomenon Mad Mike Whiddett, professional sailor Grant Dalton and Andrew Proctor.

‘Mad’ Mike Whiddett revealed his new off road toy ‘RUMBUL’ - a 2013 Superlite short course race truck, powered by the Mazda RX8 13B naturally aspirated engine.
2017 was also the first year the Leadfoot Festival has been won by a driver outside of the Millen family. Beaten by son Rhys in 2016, Rod missed the top spot again this year with the 2017 title going to Scottish rally legend Alister McRae.
